“PRESERVE AND CHERISH THE PALE BLUE DOT, THE ONLY HOME WE HAVE EVER KNOWN”
Vagdevi Vilas School, Nelamangala celebrated World Environment Day on 12Th June 2024 (Wednesday) by conducting a special assembly. The theme for this academic year is “Land Restoration, Desertification and
Drought Resilience.”
The aim behind organizing this programme was to spread awareness about keeping the environment clean and preserve it . The event started at 9:30 am. Academic Advisor Dr Manjuladevi, Principal Smt. Renugadevi M, Vice Principal Shri Raghavendra Bhat and Coordinator Smt Poornima presided over the function. Manjula ma’am emphasized about the importance of protecting the environment. She urged students to be responsible and to do their part to conserve natural resources and to plant trees. It was followed by a plethora of cultural activities by the students from standard I to X based on the theme ‘OUR LAND OUR FUTURE’, which included Invocation Dance, Speech, Parisara Geetha, rhymes, dance drama, Street play, Green pledge and Vote of thanks.
The celebration helped in creating awareness about the importance of environmental preservation for sustenance and how the present generation plays a part in it.
As a part of our celebration students of Std IV-VIII planted saplings, students of Std I-X participated in poster making competition, drawing competition and went on a rally calling out slogans to save nature.
